BLOODHUT TO PRESENT THE PLAY WORK A HEAD: A JOURNEY THROUGH BRAIN INJURY BY KIM LOWRY, MAY 16-25, 2003 AT PIMA COMMUNITY COLLEGE CENTER FOR THE ARTS BLACK BOX THEATRE, 2202 W. ANKLAM ROAD.

Back by popular demand!

Work A Head by Kim Lowry is a play about her experience of surviving a traumatic brain injury. It tells the story of one woman's continuing journey from injury to recovery told with the help of the women from Bloodhut. This play reminds us what is important, what is real, and gives us a profound understanding of what we take for granted every day. A staged reading of the work was presented with success last year. Now as a full production Work A Head features Kim Lowry with Rhonda Hallquist, Carlisle Ellis, Annette Hillman, Cynthia Meier, Amy Chapman, Marge Hilts and Eva Tessler. Direction is by T Greg Squires.

Bloodhut Productions was made its debut in 1992 with Our Own Bodies: Stories From the Bloodhut. Since then the ensemble has performed throughout Arizona, as well as Berkeley, Telluride, Boulder, and Santa Fe. The group has led workshops for hundreds of women, men and children. The name "Bloodhut" indicates a place where women, set aside from normal life and time, can talk freely. Borrowing the name from this ancient practice in many cultures, Bloodhut Productions has grown into a compelling and diverse ensemble of women performing true stories from their lives using a variety of media including storytelling, movement, improvisation and sketch comedy.
