Bentley's: A Community and Place to Relax

Bentley's coffees are genuine and certified 100% Fair Trade Organic!
Founded in 1984 by Joanne Schneider and Willow Bentley, Bentley's has been a part of the university community for over 20 years. Since that time, we have shifted and grown without ever forgetting where we are and why. Joanne's commitment is to our customers. She has strived to create a space where students can study, grab a bite and burn the midnight oil.

Locally owned and operated, we work to be flexible and adaptable to our customer's needs, while maintaining the integrity of our fresh and fast menu, quality coffee & teas, free wireless Internet and, of course, friendly service. We offer breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night dining options, as well as a large selection of caffineated and decaf beverages.

Saturday Night:

10:00-12:00 Midnight "Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown" --Description
Spanish director Pedro Almodovar created a fiery sensation with this nutty screwball comedy, about a slightly unbalanced actress in a desperate situation. "Women on the Verge..." was Almodovar's international breakthrough film, and is one of his best loved.

Late Night has been changed to midnight for the summer.. Our movies will be on hiatus for June & July with fun-filled classics when they return in the Fall. If you are a student or if you know one that has a film in need of screening, come see us! PA and Screen provided and we can talk about specials for your audiences. Next Saturday 5/31/03:

10PM-midnight:
Foxy Brown: a description/review

(Amazon.com essential video)
Pam Grier, the voluptuous queen of blaxploitation movies (and the foxy title character of Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown) reigns supreme in this kick-ass action flick. Bodacious nurse Foxy takes the law into her own hands after her main squeeze is murdered in cold blood. The standard revenge plot of Foxy Brown moves along on fast-forward, and the violence ratio (some of it quite gruesome) is high. Director Jack Hill, a master of the low-budget drive-in movie (Switchblade Sisters), made Coffy with Pam Grier the year before. This one's not quite as much fun, but it is decidedly kinkier, and the parade of 1970s fashion crimes is mind expanding. At one crucial moment Foxy saves herself by pulling a concealed revolver out of her mighty Afro--absolutely one of the high points of blaxploitation cinema. --Robert Horton
